DETAILS

The Stingray has been resurrected thanks to the forward-thinking engineers at Chevrolet. The idea was to design a car to honor the iconic Stingray of the past while incorporating new production techniques and materials to make the car lighter, stronger, stiffer and safer than previous models.

The hood and roof are constructed from carbon fiber; full length, hydroformed rails have been replaced with multi-part aluminum assemblies with extruded crash structures, cast cradles, both front and rear along with a section of tubing at the passengers’ compartment. To ensure that a removable roof panel was feasible Chevrolet also modified the tunnel to strengthen the chassis. As a matter of fact, there are only two, existing components from the previous model year, making this a truly, unique Corvette.
